Peninsula has once again supported Symplefsi’s Aegean Crossing, fuelling the volunteer‑led medical mission for the second consecutive year as it delivered essential healthcare to remote Greek island communities.

The 2026 crossing saw a fleet of RIB boats travel more than 400 nautical miles across the Aegean, enabling medical professionals and volunteers to reach islands including Sikinos, Folegandros, Irakleia, Donoussa, Thimaina, Fournoi, Oinousses and Psara. Over the course of the mission, 784 people were examined and 1,471 medical examinations were carried out across a wide range of medical specialties.

While the numbers reflect the scale of the operation, the mission’s impact extended beyond medical care. By overcoming the logistical challenges of reaching isolated communities, the initiative helped build trust, strengthen local connections and provide meaningful, on‑the‑ground support where access to healthcare can be limited.

By supplying the fuel that kept the mission moving safely and reliably from island to island, Peninsula helped ensure volunteers could focus on delivering care and support where it was most needed.
